Position summary
WCGTX is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to deliver attentive, hands-on emergency care at a 24/7 freestanding Emergency Room in Frisco, Texas. The facility supports efficient diagnosis and treatment with on-site CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and laboratory services.
In this role, you will assess patients, perform point-of-care laboratory work and clinical procedures, administer treatment under physician orders, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Work day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Monitor each patient's condition, assess their needs, and provide the best possible care.
- Perform clinical duties independently within the RN scope of practice.
- Perform and run laboratory tests.
- Complete training in laboratory equipment use and required documentation to comply with OSHA and CLIA standards.
- Observe and interpret patient symptoms and communicate findings to physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop individualized patient care plans.
- Perform routine procedures, including blood-pressure checks, injections, and IV starts, and document care in patient charts.
- Adjust and administer medications and provide treatments according to physician orders.
- Help maintain excellent hygiene and safety by disinfecting equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds, and inspecting the facility.
- Provide immediate medical care in emergencies.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license; a compact license is accepted.
- Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
- RN diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department experience, preferably in a free-standing ER.
- Efficient time-management skills and the ability to anticipate workflow.
- Responsible, compassionate, and able to work as part of a team.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures, with a commitment to follow them at all times.
- Ability to care for patients of all ages.
- Ability to work day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.
