Position summary
WCGTX is seeking a full-time Radiology Technologist (X-ray/CT) for North Fort Worth in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area. Provide high-quality, patient-focused care by performing diagnostic X-rays and CT scans under physician orders and supporting laboratory testing within your training, scope of practice, and facility protocols.
Work with patients of all ages, follow prescribed imaging techniques, and support safe, efficient care in coordination with physicians and nursing staff. Perform assigned laboratory testing according to facility procedures and applicable CLIA standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-focused care within your scope of practice, following physician orders, applicable Texas requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with patient care tasks, including vital signs and triage support, as delegated by the RN and physician.
- Assist with specialized procedures involving sterile techniques.
- Support basic facility upkeep, including emptying trash, unpacking linens and received supplies, and keeping work areas tidy.
- Assist with front-end registration or clerical tasks as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
- Current ARRT certification and registration in good standing.
- Current Texas MRT license in good standing.
- Documented clinical experience performing CT scans and the ability to perform CT procedures without constant supervision.
- Current BLS certification.
- Complete the continuing education required for license renewal.
- Pass required background checks.
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and assist with sterile procedures.
- Availability to work day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.

Preferred qualifications
These qualifications strengthen an application but are not mandatory unless stated above.
- At least 2 years of radiology and CT experience.
- Freestanding emergency center experience.
- ACLS certification.
Radiology duties
- Prepare patients for X-rays and CT scans, explain procedures to patients and families, and prepare the room, equipment, and required materials.
- Position patients and arrange immobilization and support devices.
- Use radiation-protection techniques to limit exposure to patients and staff.
- Adjust equipment controls, select appropriate voltage and exposure time, and perform routine X-ray examinations and assigned CT procedures.
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, report unusual occurrences, and document the patient's condition.
- Document completed procedures in the patient chart.
- Clean and disinfect radiology rooms and equipment, maintain supplies, and order replacements as needed.
- Perform radiology quality-assurance testing and maintain the required records.
- Follow applicable radiology safety and OSHA requirements.
Laboratory duties
- Complete training in laboratory equipment, documentation, and applicable OSHA and CLIA requirements.
- Learn and perform immunoassay instrument procedures, including calibrations, controls, reagents, detergents, sample testing, and consumable handling.
- Perform simple daily immunoassay equipment maintenance according to training and instructions.
- Interview patients and complete documentation needed for laboratory paperwork.
- Transfer urine specimens into sample tubes and perform immunoassay testing according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instrument instructions.
- Test patient samples according to SOPs and equipment manuals, including daily controls and intermittent calibrations as required.
- Perform corrective actions and routine equipment maintenance as instructed by training, SOPs, and equipment manuals.
- Prepare assay reports for inclusion in the physician's medical records.
- Contact equipment service providers, the Laboratory Director, Clinical Consultant, or technical consultant when assistance is needed.
- Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to OSHA guidelines.
- Prepare laboratory billing sheets and transmit required patient insurance documentation to the billing company by fax or another authorized method.
- Maintain inventories of consumables, office supplies, and paperwork needed for daily operations.
- Assist with laboratory operations as directed by the Nurse Manager or delegated authority, including inventory management, accounting, and marketing support as assigned.
- Immediately report unusual, hazardous, disruptive, or corrective-action issues involving clinical care, equipment, or business operations to the Nurse Manager.
Physical demands & reasonable accommodations
- Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- The role involves walking, standing, feeling, reaching, seeing, stooping, smelling, depth perception, color vision, and pushing.
- Be able to perform CPR and chest compressions and work with arms above the head for extended periods while moving and positioning the X-ray tube.
- Manage multiple priorities and stress, exercise independent judgment, work effectively alone, and make decisions under pressure while working near others or in distracting environments.

Working conditions
- Potential exposure to chemical and other hazards described in safety data sheets, subject to applicable OSHA safety requirements.
