Position summary
WCGTX is seeking a Medical Staff & Administrative Coordinator to manage the credentialing lifecycle for clinical staff and help ensure every provider is verified, privileged, and compliant before starting an assignment. The role requires precise follow-through across multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
You will coordinate document collection, primary-source verification, privileging, CAQH maintenance, expirable tracking, compliance checks, and audit-ready records from initial hire through renewal.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with HR to begin document collection immediately upon hire and maintain documentation for existing staff.
- Coordinate criminal-history, employment, and education background checks.
- Perform primary-source verification of education, licenses, registrations, certifications, and other qualifications.
- Submit and track privileging applications for each medical staff member through approval.
- Maintain and update CAQH profiles for all providers.
- Track expiring credentials and send renewal reminders.
- Run required compliance checks, including OIG and GSA exclusion-list checks and NPDB queries.
- Maintain audit-ready credentialing files in line with Joint Commission and NCQA standards.
- Communicate with hospital medical staff offices to resolve outstanding documentation.
- Support payer-enrollment paperwork as needed while maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- At least 2 years of credentialing experience in a hospital, ER, urgent care, or staffing environment.
- High attention to detail and comfort with compliance-sensitive documentation.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications

- Associate or bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with credentialing software such as CAQH, Modio, Symplr, or a similar platform.
- CPCS certification is a plus; it is not required.
