Position summary

WCGTX is seeking a Health Educator in Frisco and Arlington, Texas, to guide patients toward healthier lifestyles and support health education in hospital and clinical settings. This role combines patient education, community needs assessment, and the development of practical health education programs.

You will gather and analyze patient information to understand community health education needs, develop and supervise programs that promote healthier lifestyles, and provide patients with knowledge and support before medical treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patients with guidance on healthy lifestyles in hospital and clinical settings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve health education programs.
  • Gather and analyze patient data to identify community health education needs.
  • Develop and supervise programs that promote healthier lifestyles.
  • Address health topics affecting adults and children, including family planning, sexual health, hygiene, fitness, cancer screenings, and prevention of infectious disease transmission.
  • Create free educational materials for distribution in the community.
  • Prepare patients for upcoming medical treatments by providing information and support.
  • Serve as an ongoing educational resource for patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate health and wellness information clearly to adults and children.
  • Ability to develop health education programs and materials based on patient and community needs.
  • Ability to gather and analyze patient information to identify community health education needs.
  • Complete required orientation and HIPAA training, and follow workplace and confidentiality policies.
